Name — the display name you choose. Email address — used to sign you in, verify your account, reset your password and send billing receipts. Recipes — titles, ingredients, instructions, notes, categories, tags, cooking times, servings, ratings and sources you enter. Uploaded images — recipe photographs, scans of handwritten recipes, and your profile picture. Device information — device type, operating system, app version and approximate region, gathered to diagnose faults and keep the service secure. Subscription information — which plan you hold, its status and renewal date, and a record of purchases. We never see or store your full card number; payments are handled by the payment provider or app store.
To run your account and store your recipes; to read text from the recipe photographs you upload; to share recipes with the family members you invite; to process subscriptions and provide support; to keep the service secure and detect abuse; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data, we do not show advertising, and we do not use your recipes or images to train third-party AI models.
Data is held in managed cloud infrastructure. Everything sent between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit with TLS. Stored data, including uploaded images, is encrypted at rest by the hosting platform. Passwords are never kept in readable form. Recipe images live in private storage that only you and your invited family members can read, through short-lived signed links. Access rules are enforced by the database itself, not only by the app.
We use infrastructure providers for hosting, database and file storage; an AI provider to convert recipe photographs into text; and app stores or a payment provider to process purchases. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
Your recipes and account details are kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, personal information, recipes and uploaded images are removed permanently, with backups cycling out within 30 days. Limited billing and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires. Account activity logs are kept for up to 12 months.
You may access, correct, download or delete your data at any time. Settings → Your data provides a one-tap export of everything we hold about you, and permanent account deletion. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to portability, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email support@valaryntechnologies.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Open Settings → Your data → Delete my account, and confirm. This removes your profile, recipes, collections, uploaded images and sign-in credentials. It cannot be undone, so export a copy first if you want to keep your recipes.
We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your appearance settings. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Any analytics are limited to aggregate, non-identifying usage and crash information used to fix problems.
The Chef's Cookbook is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
